Privacy Policy

McKinney's Handyman Service is a one-person business run by AJ McKinney in Marietta, Georgia. This policy explains what information this website collects, why it's collected, and what happens to it. It applies to mckinneyshandymanservice.com and to quote requests submitted through it.

Information You Give Me

When you submit the quote form on this site, you provide:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The service address and city where the work would be done
• A description of the job
• Any photos you choose to attach

Name, email, phone, address, city, and job details are required — I can't quote a job without them. Photos are optional.

If you call, text, or email me directly instead, I have whatever you tell me in that conversation, plus your phone number or email address.

Photos You Upload

Photos are used to understand the job before I come out. Please don't include anything in a photo you wouldn't want me to see — and be aware that photos taken on a phone can carry embedded location data. I don't strip that data or use it, but it may be present in the file.

Information Collected Automatically

This site runs its own basic analytics so I can tell which pages people actually use and whether my advertising is working. When you visit a page, the site records:

• The page you viewed and the page or search that referred you to it
• Campaign tags (UTM parameters) if you arrived from an ad or a tracked link
• Whether you're on a mobile device or a desktop
• Your IP address, and the approximate location Cloudflare derives from it — city, region, ZIP code, country, time zone, approximate coordinates, and your internet provider
• How far down a page you scrolled and roughly how long you spent on it
• Whether you tapped a Call or Text button
• A random ID stored in your browser, so repeat visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor rather than several. It expires after 30 days, at which point it's deleted and a new one is generated — so it can't be used to follow you over the long term.

The location is derived from your IP address, not from your device's GPS, and it's approximate — usually accurate to the city, not the street. This site does not request access to your device's location, camera, or microphone.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies, and it does not run Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook pixels, or any other third-party advertising or tracking scripts. The visitor ID and referral information described above are kept in your browser's own local storage. The visitor ID expires on its own after 30 days. You can clear it sooner at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this site, or avoid it entirely by using private/incognito browsing or a browser that blocks scripts.

How I Use This Information

I use it to:

• Respond to your quote request and schedule the work
• Contact you about a job — before, during, or after
• Understand what the job involves before I arrive
• See which pages and which advertising actually bring in customers
• Block spam and abusive submissions
• Meet legal, tax, or insurance obligations

I do not use your information to send marketing emails or texts unless you've asked me to, and I don't add you to any mailing list from a quote request.

What I Never Do

• I do not sell your personal information. I never have and I don't plan to.
• I do not share or trade it with advertisers, data brokers, or lead-generation companies.
• I do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who Else Handles Your Information

I'm the only person at this business who sees your quote requests. A few service providers process data on my behalf in order to run the site and deliver the messages:

• Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores quote requests and uploaded photos. Cloudflare also provides the approximate location data described above.
• Google Workspace (Gmail) — delivers quote requests to my email inbox, which is where I read and reply to them.

These providers act on my instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. I may also disclose information if I'm legally required to — for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

How Long I Keep It

• Quote requests — stored on the website's servers for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
• Uploaded photos — kept until I delete them.
• Analytics records — kept for 12 months, then automatically deleted.
• Email — quote request emails, and any correspondence with you, stay in my email account until I delete them. I may keep records of completed jobs longer where I need them for tax, warranty, or insurance purposes.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send through the quote form is encrypted in transit. Your information is stored on Cloudflare's and Google's infrastructure, protected by access controls on my accounts. No system is perfectly secure, and I can't guarantee that no breach will ever happen — but I keep the number of places your information lives as small as I reasonably can.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask me to:

• Tell you what information I have about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete your information
• Stop contacting you

Email me at aj@mckinneyshandymanservice.com or call (470) 624-0096 and I'll take care of it. There's no form to fill out and no fee. I may need to confirm you're the person the information belongs to before I act on a request. I'll respond within 45 days, and usually much faster.

Depending on where you live, you may have these rights under state law — including the Georgia Consumer Privacy Protection Act and similar laws in other states. I extend them to everyone who asks, regardless of where you live.

Calls and Texts

If you give me your phone number, I'll use it to reach you about your job. Reply STOP to any text and I'll stop texting you.

Children

This site is meant for adults hiring a handyman. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, email me and I'll delete it.

Links to Other Sites

This site links to my Facebook and TikTok pages. Once you follow those links, you're on their platforms, and their privacy policies apply — not this one.

Changes to This Policy

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
